Data Analytics for Pakistani Enterprises

Modern data warehouses, dashboards and ML pipelines designed for Pakistani regulators, latency and PKR cost discipline.

Pakistani enterprises generate enormous data β€” payments, calls, transactions, deliveries, claims β€” and convert almost none of it into decisions. Spreadsheets are still the default reporting layer in most boardrooms. Excellent dashboards die on the SBP residency question. Even where the data warehouse exists, half the business cannot trust the numbers because nobody documented the lineage.

Buraq builds Pakistani analytics platforms that survive contact with regulators and CFOs. We engineer warehouses on Snowflake, BigQuery or Databricks (deployed in regions SBP and PDPB will accept), build governed semantic layers, and ship dashboards business teams actually use. Delivery is by senior data engineers in Pakistan working full local-hour overlap.

Market Challenges

What teams in Pakistan are up against

Excel-based monthly reporting taking 5 days a month from a senior analyst who should be on strategy.

BI tools (Power BI, Tableau, Looker) deployed without governance β€” every team building its own conflicting metric.

SBP and PDPB residency questions blocking the move from on-prem SQL Server to a cloud warehouse.

Data engineering team firefighting broken pipelines instead of building new ones.

ML pilots stuck in Jupyter notebooks because nobody productionised the feature store or monitoring.

Why Buraq

Outcomes for Pakistan teams

One source of truth, governed

Modern warehouse with a single semantic layer (dbt or LookML) so finance, marketing and operations all reference the same metric definitions.

Sub-80 ms dashboards

Deployments anchored in AWS Bahrain or Azure UAE North so Pakistani users see sub-second BI tool response times.

PKR-predictable analytics spend

Warehouse cost controls, query monitoring and storage tiering built in from week one. Typical engagements cut warehouse bills 30% versus uncontrolled usage.

Analytics your team owns

Documentation, runbooks and training so your in-house analysts can extend the warehouse and dashboards after handoff.

Modern stack tuned for Pakistani realities

Our default Pakistani data stack is Snowflake or BigQuery for the warehouse, dbt for transformations, Airflow or Dagster for orchestration, and Looker, Metabase or Power BI for the consumption layer. Where SBP residency demands it, we deploy on Databricks on AWS Bahrain or Azure UAE North. Where budget is tight, Postgres + dbt + Metabase delivers more than most CFOs expect.

We build the governance layer alongside the technology. Metric ownership, change-management for definition changes, access controls aligned to PDPB lawful basis, and lineage documentation that lets the SBP inspector trace any number on a dashboard back to its source system.

Productionising ML and decision automation

Once the warehouse is reliable, machine learning becomes a real option. We help Pakistani fintechs build credit scoring on the data they actually have (mobile wallet history, telco signals, e-commerce behaviour), telcos run churn prediction, and insurers price more accurately than rule-based systems allow.

Models ship with monitoring, drift detection, model cards and the SBP-acceptable governance package. Nothing goes to production without a clear retraining and rollback plan.

FAQ

Pakistan questions, answered

Have a question not listed here? Contact our Pakistan team and we'll get back to you.

Where should we host our data warehouse for SBP-regulated workloads?
AWS Bahrain (me-south-1) or Azure UAE North are the most commonly approved options for SBP-regulated Pakistani workloads. Both offer sub-80 ms latency to Pakistani users and we have prior architecture submissions accepted by SBP reviewers.
Can you migrate us off SQL Server or Oracle on-prem?
Yes. We've migrated Pakistani enterprises from on-prem SQL Server, Oracle and Teradata to Snowflake, BigQuery and Databricks β€” preserving lineage, refactoring stored procedures into dbt models, and running the old and new in parallel until the cutover is safe.
Do you build with Power BI, Tableau or Looker?
All three. Power BI is the most common in Pakistani enterprises (Microsoft licensing penetration is high), Tableau in select banks, and Looker for newer cloud-native builds. We also use Metabase and Superset for cost-sensitive deployments.
Can you help with PDPB-aligned anonymisation for analytics?
Yes. We design analytics platforms with PII tokenisation, differential privacy where appropriate, and access controls that let analysts answer business questions without unnecessary exposure to identifiable data.
